Description

I made this case for the Meanwell LRS-200/350 power supply and STC-1000 temp controller for the awesome chamber heater for the X1/P1:

I am using this remix, as i used a 200w heating element and 350w PSU:

It has a cutout of the AC power plug and switch, a DC barrel plug as well as a hole to pass throgh the temp sensor. The PSU can just attach to the bottom of the case via some double sided nano tape. M4 screws to fix the lid to the body. 

 

Should be printed with no supports and with the AUX fan completely off to avoid warping.

1. What’s the model number of the 200w heater you used? 2. I’m guessing it’s the same size as the 100w? 3. What temp does the 200w go up to?. Thanks in advance

So its in the description: Meanwell LRS-350. Its a 350w, as you need some overhead. Also if you go with 100w heater, its best to use the LRS-200 for 200w. Always use a more powerful supply so its not working at 100% capacity for better longevity. I dont go much higher then 60-65c as that is the max temp the printer internals are rated for. The more powerful heater is for faster warm up and less working cycles during use. The X1E uses a 250w heater for example.

Just read you message again, you initially asked about the power supply and not the heater? The heater is a generic aliexpress unit.

Thank you for printing this. Made housing everything so much easier. Wanted to confirm something before I hooked it up. Are you using the DC barrel plug for wiring both heater and fans? Or did you wire the fans to the power directly and heater to barrel plug separately so that they power the whole time? I know its probably not a huge deal but I am curious to what others have done before I finish the wiring. Thanks again for the awesome print!

Thank you for the kind words and the boost! Yes you want both the fans and heater on the same circuit so when the temp controller turns on the heater, the fan come on as well. And when its off they are not running for no reason. You need to run them in parallel and not in series of course. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Awesome, Thank you, that makes perfect sense. I saw some other heater builds where he had the fans set to run separately in case the heater malfunctioned but it didn't make much sense, but have not built one yet so I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Thank you again, I'll post my build once it's up!

Yes, no supports required, it can bridge the top of the slots.

Do you happen to have a Fusion360 model or STEP of this. I would like to add a mount for a relay, D1 Mini and buck converter so I can control on and off through Home Assistant.
