Description

I created a travel case to hold q-tips and flossers. It is compact and should easily fit into a toiletry bag.

This model does not require any hardware like some other cases that are posted on here. It is all snap in place.

There are 3 parts, the top, bottom and latch. I have the print profile set up with two different options, one where you can print all of the parts at once but all the same color. And then another where you can print the top and bottom one color and the latch another on a different print.

All of the snap fits are meant to spin somewhat freely. Be careful removing the support and make sure you get it all off. There are a couple of strands that like to stay on the bottoms of the shafts, shown in the picture below.

Good luck printing!

perfect travel case for Q-Tips. I edited the STL cause I just needed it for Q-tips. all I did was made the case a few mm slimmer and removed the devide. everything else is cosmetic. added a flag and some text to go with the color scheme I used.

supports are a bit hard to remove where the clip needs to connect, although I'm not even sure it should use supports there.

nice print. the hinge broke after a couple of uses which is why I removed a star

Great idea! Sadly like others, hinges didn't last even with different filament types. Rainy day remix to add pins instead when I get the time.

The hinge pin. First attempt it snapped trying to snap them together. The second attempt I tried shaving it down slightly but then the alignment was all wonky.

I see, that makes sense. The hinge is intentionally a little tight to snap in so it wont fall out. When you are snapping it together, the lid should be up at a 90 degree angle that way the hinge pins have the most strength from breaking.

I wanted to love this. I wanted to so much I printed three different times with different filament. None of worked properly. They didn't match up properly when I was able to kinda get the back hinges to snap together. None of the the front locking hinges worked. I would absolutely print it again if it get modifications.

The box printed well, but the two sides did not easily join together. One of the snap in joints broke off when attempting to put it together.
