Description

Device for simplifying peeling hard boiled eggs.

Directions for use:

  • Hard boil eggs as normal (Recommend hard yolks and not soft yolks for this device)
  • Remove eggs from boiling water and put in ice bath to cool rapidly
  • Allow to cool until eggs are quite cold (well below room temp)
  • Place an egg in the device and fill at least 1/2  with cold water. (Try different amounts of water, but ½ works well for me)
  • Screw on the lid
  • Shake the egg peeler allowing the egg to bounce around inside. Keep shaking until the shell is mostly broken up (but will still be attached to the egg)
  • Open the device, remove the egg, and the peel should slide cleanly off of the egg

Note the peeler takes some trial and error to get it working consistently. It may require more or less shaking, more or less water, etc. It is important that the eggs be fully cold when peeled. Do not shake the egg so aggressively that it cracks/tears the egg white/yolk.

Be sure to thoroughly clean the peeler after each use. The layers in the print are perfect for bacteria to hide.

it takes a bit of trial and error to get it to work well. try different amounts of very cold water. also try shaking with different intensity. we have it dialed in and it works great.
