I uploaded one of these Drill Dust Collectors a short time ago and I'm always thinking how I can make the design bigger and better and easier to Print.
I got to thinking if it would be feasible to design the collector, handle and back plate all as one piece and design the end cap separately then print the model vertically and then print the end cap, this worked and makes it a better design with only having to glue the end cap on, easy peasy as they say.
This collector has a wider catchment area, the body is 2mm thickness now so stronger and a more ergonomic handle, the alignment arrows are still there as is the chamfer on the hole to deflect the debris into the collector, another bonus is that this dust collector stands upright as well ensuring that the debris stays in the collector if you put it down somewhere until its emptied.
In my opinion an all round better design and easier way to print this model.
Prints as in the print preview screen shot, the slicer did ask for support for overhangs, Ignore this, it prints just fine without any support, it did lay down a small brim which peeled off easily.
Whenever I print I only use the smooth cool plate, I religiously clean with Isopropyl Alcohol after every print and then I use a glue stick to ensure the print sticks to the bed, I let the print cool down and the prints just pop off, this works for me on most models and leaves a nice smooth finish off the print bed, to clean the build plate I just wash with warm water and washing up Liquid and let dry.
