Description

Scuba diving spool to be printed in two parts.
It allows you to store approximately 30 meters of 1.5mm line to use in your scuba diving for launching the SMB, deep stops, safety stops or entering wrecks/mines/caves.

Attached you will also find the STL file to add text, for example your name, nickname or your diving group ( see orange spool PIC )

Assembling the parts is very simple. Two drops of BOSTIK Super Bond and in a few seconds you will have your new scuba diving spool.

**

Added second printing profile, with an internal space of 32 mm to allow the storage of a greater amount of rope

gaps could be a lil tighter but thats only because i was asked to describe problems. otherwise perfect. buoyancy could be considered. but other materials and 100% infill will tackle this. 10/10 would recommend

Thank you very much for your comment. As for the material, I agree that PLA is not the best choice even just from the perspective of leaving your equipment under the sun for an afternoon on the beach or on a boat ( better cool under water ;-) ). I definitely recommend printing it in ABS or ASA also for structural issues of the component. The 40% infill on the other hand, I can guarantee that it is sufficient to make the reel with negative buoyancy with the weight of the steel carabiner alone even at -2 meters depth. If you have other suggestions to improve the part or doubts, write to me.

Have you tried using a 5mm neoprene glove? The dimensions are quite standard with the products on the market.

am using 5 mm neoprene wet gloves yea. printed in petg-cf but the middle is to wide it eats into the space where you store the line. compared to my other fingerspools from amazon it fits half the line i have on those. same diameter for finger just that the double wall from both sides of the spool makes the outside (where line is) to wide diameter and eats up space for line. otherwize good dimentions

Replying to @fpd.angell :
I'll work on a different design to improve it. unfortunately the double wall is necessary, to allow it to be printed in two pieces, avoiding printing supports and to have the same finish on both external faces.
