When I found the amazing Tie Fighter for the Echo Dot made by Aspengt (link below) I was very excited to print it. Unfortunately the files were orginally designed for the 2nd Gen Echo Dot which meant that the 3rd Gen Dot sat very high in the center part, the light ring popped out of the top and was not centered in the window.
I decided I would try to edit the original STL files to make a version that worked better with the 3rd Gen Echo Dot and this is what I ended up making. You will need the original make wing parts, as well as 2 square couplers and lasers, so you should grab them from the original make (link below).
The parts I have provided here are the 2 center cockpit parts that have a 6mm indent in them to lower the Dot. The indent is also pushed back as far as possible from the front window to allow more room to see the LED ring and work better with the edited front window part. The front window part now has a large chamfered edge to allow the larger diameter light ring of the 3rd Gen Dot to show almost completely.
I printed this in 2 color PLA on my Bambu Lab P1S with AMS, at 0.2 Standard settings and Auto Tree Supports for the window and rear parts, but used Auto Normal supports for the wings. Everything is CA glued and I did not use screws for the wings since the press fit is very tight and even needed sanding to get them to insert.
FYI, I am by no means a pro, or a real maker, I just futzed around in Tinkercad with the incredible original files from Aspengt, to make the parts fit my 3rd Gen Dot.
