Description

As a good science fiction fan, I was waiting for the premiere of the second part of Dune, and when I saw the news about this gadget and that a famous watch brand (Hamilton) created a version of the watch, my curiosity was piqued. When researching and seeing the watch in question, I loved its design and the level of detail of the prop creators for the film in something so small. All I can do is say that they are artists, I love it! and being able to reproduce the object I admit that I become obsessed.

The set has many pieces, the wheels of the “watch” are mobile, it has a strap loop on the dovetail that closes the “mechanism” container so it can be worn like a watch (something I will check because it is a bit flimsy to me), and In the part of the mechanisms, the pieces will have to be reviewed so that they fit correctly because everything is very small.

The scale is by eye, I only had 4 photos of the object so this is my version of the device that the Fremen use to know what time it is on Arrakis.

I have to paint my piece and finish its post-processing but so far I like the result, the wheels of the clockwork mechanism are fitted with a piece of filament acting as an axis and I made the clock glass from a piece of a disposable plastic tray of vegetables we ate this week, which is trapped in the chassis with the separate frame that completes the whole.

When you take the photos, do not notice that the set of mechanisms inside are upside down. When the post-processing is finished, I will upload other photos with the correct position.

In my case I used a layer height of 0.16, with a 0.4 nozzle, but perhaps with a 0.2 nozzle and a 0.10 layer height the result of the button details on the chassis would be better.

I hope you like it.
