Description

UPDATE : I redesigned the sketch for the gasket as it didn't follow the goemetry properly

F3d files can fe found here :

I revamped the SnapLock storage boxes, transforming them into parametric Fusion 360 files. Additionally, I integrated a gasket for improved alignment between the two sides, and implemented a poka yoke mechanism to prevent incorrect mounting of the latches.

With the original model, I was surprised to notice that many people tend to assemble the latch backward, resulting in difficulty when opening it. In this new model, I've incorporated a small bump to prevent backward mounting entirely.

Disclaimer :

This is my first model using Fusion 360, I usually use Solidworks. Please be understanding if there are any mistakes in the model. Additionally, I have not set specific limits on the parameters but have provided minimum values in the comments. Should you attempt to go below these minimum values, the model may fail to reconstruct correctly, and I recommend restarting from the initial file.

Filaments used in the pictures : Link

  • FormFutura Refill PETG Light Grey
  • FormFutura Refill PETG Iron Grey

Size :

I have created two versions: a single-latch variant for smaller boxes and a dual-latch variant for larger ones.

Furthermore, I have shared the STEP files for both models.

How to modify the box :

  1. You need to have Fusion 360 downloaded
  2. Open one of the files and in the “MODIFY” menu choose “Change Parameters” as shown :

  3. A window pops up and you can modify the parameters in the “Favorites” section :
I added the minimum value for each parameter before the model breaks

  4. Export, print and enjoy !

Thank you for uploading the Fusion 360 files!! It made it EXTREAMLY easy to make the exact box I needed. Also, your file is very well thought out and I feel like I was able to learn a few things by examining your Fusion 360 timeline. Thank you again!!

I tried to scale up in fusion to W175xL140 mm. I get these big circles under "latch receiver profile" Help <3

excellent print file! easy to adjust size for first timer on pc. for those who don’t know there’s a hobbyist version of fusion 360 that’s free (don’t confuse with the 360 trial). if you get errors in fusion or weird circles click “compute all” in the bottom of the “modify” menu and that fixed everything (this should be added to the support docs!) I did a superfine 0.8mm layer height print after honing in my print settings. it hardly looks 3D printed at except if I could improve the model I’d round the big outer corners a bit more as the polygon edges were showing.

Hey, nice print ! You are right with the "compute all" trick, I will add it to the instuctions. I dont know if the corners are the polygon showing or artifacts of your printer moving too fast (I just checked and I have the same on my boxes) If it is the polygon count I have a trick : when you export as STL on fusion you have a pop up menu that let you choose the quality. You can tweak the sliders until the curves are smooth.

ah good tip with the polygons. I saw them in bambustudio model but it makes sense it was lowered by Fusion

Can someone post step-by-step instructions on how to properly modify the box in fusion? I have no experience with this soft ;/. (images no longer available)

Extend the download menu, click on the "Download STL" option, it will open a window where you can find all the files MakerWorld should make it easier to find !

Made a pill box on my X1C using Bambu PETG-CF and it worked out beautifully. The latches are fantastic on this. They are both secure and easy to open with a satisfying "click". The parametric solution in Fusion 360 is great. I just type in the size I want and it just works. Very well done. Thank you!

Would it be possible to make the STL available? I need the box exactly like this one with the dividers, thank you.
