Description

Welcome to the circus, one and all! Or, just welcome to your mind, at least the innermost half. Here we have the one and only—or one of many, I really can't remember—Voronoi Mobile Phone Stand! (Of course, I won't be offended if you call it a holder for your cell phone, but they might be.)

This is version 3 of the Voronoi Mobile Phone Stand! It is now available with color changes built in for AMS. Choose from the 1 color (but still not boring) version, or the 2-3 color version. Of course, you can mix and match any colors you want, but I figured it might be easier if the color changes were already laid out. The versions labeled AMS do not have pauses in them.

For those of you who want to do manual filament changes because you don't have AMS, there are NOAMS versions available with PAUSE added in 2 locations. Choose the 2-3 color version. Since you can change the color manually on the fly, there doesn't need to be a separate version for 2 and 3 color. Color change in the photograph was done manually at 7mm and 59mm.

Recommended printing settings:

  • 0.20mm layer height
  • 0.40-0.60 wall thickness
  • 5 wall loops are recommended. 3 is the minimum. 5 will be stronger and may in fact print faster, despite using a little more filament.
  • Print on its side.
  • No supports needed.
  • Brim not typically needed, so only add if you know you need it.

Looks great, but Brim was very much needed for me. Even on Textured PEI with glue on it it'd still cause spaghetti after 5+ attempts.

Sorry to hear that. I'm glad you got it to print. If I can give you some advice, on textured PEI, glue is generally used as a release agent, not so much an adhesion agent. The glue is likely filling in the pores of the textured PEI reducing adhesion (as it's meant to). It's good for filaments who adhere too strongly to the plate, but bad for filaments such as PLA.
