Description

“Tensegrity, tensional integrity or floating compression is a structural principle based on a system of isolated components under compression inside a network of continuous tension, and arranged in such a way that the compressed members (usually bars or struts) do not touch each other while the prestressed tensioned members (usually cables or tendons) delineate the system spatially.” (Wikipedia).

Model suitable for elastic bands. Easy to assemble. Two parts to be glued with super glue.

I don't understand how it works; mine doesn't stay upright. Does it always have to have a weight on top of it?

Hello,No weight is necessary.It is important that all the elastic bands are under very slight tension.And that the side elastic bands are equal to each other.Then, with a little patience, you need to find the position of equilibrium: once you have found it, the system is stable.
