Description

If you are like me you like to automate everything, I use a variety of smart sensors with Home Assistant. I remixed the DryPod to fit an Aqara Temperature and Humidity sensor https://www.aqara.com/eu/product/temperature-humidity-sensor/ and created automations in Home Assistant to alert me when I need to change out my desiccant to keep the AMS dry.

NOTE: This REQUIRES supports, base plate only, tree supports works best.

Worked well for me. Still got the others to print but this works well for me seeing as I have gone deep down the Home Assistant rabbit hole.

It might make sense to have a display here, but the sensor directly on the wall behind the silica gel says little about the humidity in the AMS. I simply glued the Aqara hygrometer to the side of the AMS lid, so it is closer to the filament and the space for the sensor bulge can be used for more silica gel. Above all, I can then see more of the silica gel, whether it has discolored, which would otherwise be covered by the sensor. I don't want to criticize this design, but rather provide a suggestion for an alternative solution.

I agree with you, you would have a more accurate reading keeping the sensor away from the silica and no offense taken I always appreciate alternative solutions!
