Description

This leaf mask is in the same manner as my moon and stars where you print the first layer, pause the print, add tulle, and continue the print.

The pattern is leaves in a symmetrical pattern.

After it's done, you cut out the mask and out the eye holes.

I printed on Ivory Tulle to match my skin tone, but you can go crazy and do any color you want.

Attach a ribbon to each side to tie on. I cut into two holes on a leaf on each end to thread through and attach the ribbon I've also used double sided tape to just tape it to my face so it really looks like it's floating there!

I also have earrings that match this mask: https://makerworld.com/en/models/38457#profileId-37296

very creative way of using tulle for creating a mask! For a second I thought the net which holds all the pieces together was also 3d printed! ;)

Thanks! I did experiment with doing the first couple layers connected with flexible filament, but ultimately the PLA doesn't want to stay stuck to the TPU and results in a mask that doesn't necessarily work as well. https://www.instructables.com/Floating-Mask/ Actually, I could probably try this again, I haven't done it in a few years and I've learned a lot since then.

Thanks for the behind the scenes infos! I started 3D printing half year ago and I am still amazed what you could do with 3d printing. I am sure in 10-20 years everyone will have a 3d printer at home just like todays ink jet printers. :)

It never has for me. I've printed a ton of masks since I sell them on Etsy and the tulle has never had issues except getting caught on the nozzle once in a while if it isn't taped down well enough.

hey! Just curious about the issues you encounter printing this? I know these masks can be very finkicky and am curious how I can improve on the print profile for others in the future.
