I just tried it and it worked. The plastic part of the pop filter is attached with a snap mechanism and possibly some glue. Applying some gentle but firm force was rewarded with a cracking sound as the two halves of the plastic shell separated. I used a good pair of pliers to grab the flexible part just underneath the plastic, no other tools were necessary.
