I love this awesome project from
Miklos Kiszely, thx a lot for this design)

But in my opinion needs to be improve.

So I improve a lot things and found a lot improvements wich are already great I upgraded these also and bring it togethter into my improved Spool rewinder.

The Awesome Filament Spool Winder

its possible to use it manualy one or elecric driven

both design are avail in this post.


 

Main Changes are:

- Mainbody with 3 additional bearings , so it is a lot more stable and reliable

-one additional bearing at the Main Body to guide the middle gear better.

-one additional bearing at the Main Body to guide the axle much better.

-one additional bearing at the filament carriage sled worn gear assembly

-guides with slides at filament carriage sled to guide

vit better and avoid a lift up

-Spindle with Bearings, to avoid exessive wear and smoother work

-i uploaded 2 Spindles one normal one for Bambu spools and a shorter for Sunlu and similar…

-additional threaded Inserts on the top to fit the cover for the filament spool axle

-the holes in the base of the main Body to fix it on a Table or some other thing..

-the heavy axis 45mm with steel insert - put into the axle a 4mm hex wrench and cut it.. if used manuell

-Filament Guide with M3 threaded Inserts and longer slides

-the Spool center adapter to use every spool with inner diameter from 40 to 75mm for the spool holder

-some M3 threaded melted inserts are added for a better usage.

 

The Bearings for the Spindle are 6200RS2,

I ordered these from amazon

TAIANJI Kugellager 10mm x 30mm x 9mm Double Shielded Rillenkugellager Metall Kugellager für 3D drucker, Skateboard Roller Inline Skates etc(6 Stück) : Amazon.de: Sport & Freizeit

but you can also use the Printed ones which i added it works also good if your printer is good calibrated.

Spoolaxle with bearings

As Pinions and axles i used the great improved axles from Damian(thx for these)

and i upgraded the Motordrive unit from Bird2Barin(thx for these nixe design) to fit it better to my upgreated Mainbody.

To Bring it together I screw The Main Body the Unwinder Body and Motorunit on a Wooden Board 22cm x 50cm x 1,9cm

Thanks for the model, the redesign is appreciated, but oof the tolerances on this redesign just aren't quite right. If you build this, here's what to expect: - The axles need a hammer to get them through the bearings. - The three bearings at the bottom of the spool holder fall out; I had to superglue them in. - The filament guide carriage printed washers are too thick, causing the guide to sit 2mm above the spool holder. I had to print some smaller 1mm washers. - I recommend to print the filament guide carriage with the bearing hole face-down, and use support filament only on the overhung section (see images) - The motor mount plate did not fit the motor screw mounts - I had to melt a hole in the bottom of the motor housing to get a pair of pliers through to thread the nut on the power adapter. Nice prints I also tried to print the motor housing using PLA CF however the air vents are not coming out well. Also tried with some support but removing it just leads to breakages. Any special parameters you adjusted to get your air vents looking so good? TIA

I also had some breakages when printing. When I printed this, the roll was fresh out of the package, though I've heard sometimes filament ships less than totally dry. Maybe try drying your filament? Fwiw, I printed at 0.1mm layer height

Mistakes were made (by me), but I got there and I can now transfer filament from a huge reel of filament to an AMS one. Thanks, this has helped a great deal.

where do you get the bearings from and what size?

Nice Model, but doesn't work out for me. I've ordered the bearings (30mm) like in the description, but they are to big. I've figuered out, the print is to small. I've opened your project from here, and the scale of all objects on the different plates is everywhere 100%. I didn't changed the scale before I've printed the model. So, what happened here? I've wasted a lot of PLA. The box for the drive fits 100%. As you can see in pictures, the model is in Bambu Lab Studio already to small. In the other picture you can see, that the hole is 8mm to small. The bearing is in both pictures 30mm in diameter.

the bearings in the print profile are ONLY for the spindle as shown in the fotos below. If you don't want to use 3D printed plastic bearings, you can buy them on Amazon https://www.amazon.de/TAIANJI-Kugellager-Shielded-Rillenkugellager-Skateboard/dp/B097R6JCJM/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=kugellager+30x10x9&qid=1687974433&sr=8-8 all other bearings are 8mm x 22mm x 7mm (608RS2) big

only trouble I had was with bearing sizes. didn't realize there were two size bearings involved 8 of the. 8mm x 22mm x 7mm and 8 of 10mm x 30mm x 9mm
