Summary

Loved the idea of the original design by N3utrin0.
Unfortunately I had a lot of issues with printing since the snow flake details were mostly unsupported and the bottom of the bowl was too steep an angle

I decided to update it so that I could print it easier. The updated design I successfully printed completely unsupported (there is a small piece in the center of the snowflakes that came out a little messy, looked good enough for me though).

It didn't quite work out. I'm new at this. Are there any settings I can play with to improve the print?

ahhh interesting. what material are you printing and did you change any settings? I printed mine with Bambu basic PLA and all default settings at .16 layer height and it came out ok. There is a unsupported point at the tip of the snowflake that may cause problems, but my printer seemed to handle it ok. you could try adding snug support there so it isn’t printing in mid-air.

fantastic print, went off the recommended settings from the designer and there was zero issues.

I've printed six of these so far in two different colors. They look great. I have had a similar small failure on three of the six, which you can see in the second picture. I suspect this could be addressed by putting the printer in Silent mode and slowing it down, particularly around the snowflake cut outs. But the blemish is small and my wife didn't even notice. Printed on the gold PEI plate using sunlu PLA.
