Description
This pot is intended for use with semi hydro (self watering with a wick) pon or any wicking rock/mineral substrate. For use with liquid fertilizer in the reservoir and pH balanced water. (5.8pH for hoyas)
This design solves a few problems that I really wanted in a semi hydro pot. It allows access to clean the reservoir without messing with the plant, hanger or trellis while it's hanging. It uses a common wide mouth mason(or common twist-off 6 lug) jar as a reservoir - so it's easily changeable and versatile. The pot is AIRY. It uses gyroid infill as the walls and acts like a fine mesh. I think it will give your hoya (or other epiphyte) a good useable moisture gradient. If it rains - the pot won't over fill. The only CON that I foresee is that it's probably going to be very hard to repot. I honestly think this pot is so awesome. I hope you use it!
There are 2 thread versions! Wide Mouth Mason Jar and Twist-Off 6 Lug (common in salsa, jam or larger pasta sauce jars).
There are 4 sizes; 4", 5", 6" and 7"
Other things you need:
A Jar
A wick. (use nylon or synthetic blend 1/4" rope or similar) More wicks might be needed depending on the substrate you use and how dry the air is.
A 3 strand wire hanger.
I released the 3mf files only because in order to print the gyroid infill walls correctly they needed to be sliced - and I don't know how do get those setting to save in a STL right now. this was easier.
