Hello Makers:

Ultimate Onion Slicer

Update 23/07/2026 : a V2 is now available It brings several design improvements: a more robust structure, better durability, reduced print time, and optimized interlocking between the two parts of the model. Two sizes are offered: 100% for small to medium onions and 120% for medium to large onions, also available for the A1 mini. I highly recommend the V2

This model is a cutting aid tool designed to firmly hold onions (can be used for apples or other foods of the same size/shape) during preparation, while ensuring a safer, more stable, and regular cut

The model's teeth are equipped with studs to hold onions in place without slipping

The regular spacing between the teeth serves as a cutting guide, allowing for homogeneous and identically sized slices or strips, for more precise and consistent cutting

An integrated ergonomic handle improves grip and control of the device during use

The tool also helps secure cutting, especially for children or users uncomfortable with knives, by reducing direct contact with the food and limiting the risk of slipping or injury

PS :

  • Supports have been optimized for easy cleaning, however, to remove supports without breaking the model's teeth, please do so gently. Cut the branches into several pieces to separate them before removing them (like broccoli) to make the task easier. Cleaning takes less than 5 minutes on average
  • I printed it in PLA but I think in PETG the “Onion Slicer” will be more resistant/flexible
  • I tested it on normal-sized onions. If you plan to use large onions, you can print the profile at 120%, or scale it up if larger is needed

Demonstration :

  1. Cut an onion in half

  2. Place one half on the lower 'Handle' part of the slicer in the cutting direction

  3. Place the upper “teeth” part on top (observing the direction) with slight pressure so that the 2 parts interlock (there is enough play between the 2 parts for ease)

  4. Use a normal-sized knife (1.6mm thickness max) to slice the onion

  5. Remove the upper “teeth” part and retrieve your onion slices

And there you have it

Thank you for taking the time to discover this model!
