THE MODEL :

Designed like a miniature cathedral retable or an estate altar, this unique three-dimensional model stands out with its elegant recessed alcove and a delicate scalloped inner rim. The structure is crowned by an opulent high-relief scallop shell (rocaille) motif and framed by detailed side pilasters with classical capitals. Featuring realistic panel moldings inside the dome, it creates a striking sense of theatrical perspective. It is the ultimate statement piece to anchor a moody Dark Academia library desk, accent a shelving layout, or style within a sophisticated cabinet of curiosities.

Tested Print Settings (Recommendations): The clean lines of the inner molding, the deep grooves of the central shell, and the intricate lace-like scalloped arch were successfully verified using matte black PLA, as featured in the file Gemini_Generated_Image_r09gaur09gaur09g.png.

• Infill: Successfully printed at 10% (gyroid pattern suggested). Because this model features a wide, flat semi-circular base, it anchors perfectly on flat surfaces without needing high infill density.
• Nozzle: 0.4 mm
• Supports: Tailored tree supports are recommended beneath the horizontal overhang of the outer scalloped arch rim and under the heavy top shell flourishes for a flawless surface finish.

Sizing Information: The model features balanced, elegant dimensions optimized to serve as a freestanding structural accent on desks or shelves. Please feel free to freely resize the model based on your desired use within your slicing software to custom-tailor the inner alcove space for specific miniature figurines or artifacts.

INFORMATION:

A common question is: why do these prints require supports when they could be printed lying flat?

For my designs, I deliberately choose to print them standing upright rather than flat, in order to achieve the best possible level of detail. I prioritize visual quality over saving a few grams of filament.

Of course, you are free to change the print orientation in your slicer if you prefer.
