MAGSAFE TRIPOD

I created this remix starting from the excellent model "Phone Holder"(https://makerworld.com/it/models/1188611-phone-holder#profileId-1200013), keeping most of its original structure but introducing some modifications to improve its functionality, stability, and aesthetics.

The main modifications are:

• New attachment head compatible with a MagSafe magnet recovered from a car mount (https://www.amazon.it/dp/B0CR3P1SVL?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1).
• Redesigned base with a hidden compartment that can be filled with iron filings, sand, screws, or other material to increase its weight. In my case, using iron filings, the base reaches a total weight of approximately 330 g, significantly improving stability. • Added a TPU gasket between the base and arm to increase joint friction and make the stand more stable during use.

To improve the model's appearance, I applied Fuzzy Skin to various surfaces, achieving a more uniform, pleasant-to-touch finish with a more premium and professional look.

In the 3MF file, you will find all supports already configured where necessary. I always prefer to place them manually to achieve the best possible quality; I also use 3 Top Interface Layers, a configuration that has given me excellent results in terms of supported surface finish.

Note on the MagSafe magnet: from the indicated car mount, only the magnetic ring needs to be used. I removed it from its mount with a Dremel: with a little skill, it's a simple operation that only takes a few minutes. Once inserted in the correct orientation inside the holder's head, it is enclosed by a thin PETG cover, just 0.2 mm thick, to be glued with the same adhesive used for the other parts. Such a reduced thickness does not perceptibly affect the magnetic force. I chose this type of magnet because it offers excellent retention: it is strong enough to keep the phone stable even with a non-MagSafe cover, as long as it's thin (in my case, a cover of about 0.3 mm). Without a cover, or with a MagSafe cover, the attachment is extremely solid.

Materials used:

• PETG-CF for all structural parts.
• TPU for the gasket.
• Standard PETG for the clamping screws.
