Description
This model was born out of a real personal need following a painful finger injury (cut, nail lift, and microfracture of the phalanx). When regular plasters are not enough to protect against painful daily bumps, this 3D printed shield offers the definitive solution.
It creates a rigid barrier over the distal phalanx, absorbing accidental impacts.
The holes allow continuous ventilation, keeping the dressing or wound dry and clean.
- The ergonomic semi-circular design conforms to the curve of the finger without constricting or blocking circulation.
From the SLICER, modify the scale (e.g., 95% or 105%) to perfectly fit your finger size.
How to wear it??
once the correct size is found, it fits onto the finger without issues.
- for a stronger hold, it can be secured to the finger with a wrap of strong canvas tape (PIC classic fix).
I printed it in PLA and it has good hold/flexibility; if desired, you can use PETG/PETG-CF for greater resistance.
