I love golf. But, I need to practice more - especially my short game. Who wants to bend down to pick up all those balls? Not me. You can buy one of these devices, but it's infinitely more satisfying to print one.
I created this model to connect to a length of 2 inch PVC pipe. Standard issue at Home Depot or Lowes. A comfortable length is 30". That's a good height to pick up the balls without bending over at all. Fully loaded fits 19 balls.
The bottom end (that picks up the balls) is 3 parts. The main tube makes a good friction fit to the PVC pipe. The two smaller pieces slide right in. Then, simply wrap around the groove once or twice with a couple of rubber bands. You'll see right away what the right tension should be. You want it to loose enough to allow balls in, but tight enough to keep them in.
The top end tube is also a friction fit, with a screw cap so the balls don't spill out - until, of course you want them too. Convenient storage as well.
I printed this on a P2S with Bambu Lab Basic PLA White. The 3mf I uploaded does specify supports, which I recommend.
I've used it several times already. Works great and my aching back appreciates it. If you want to kick it up a notch, you can remove the red and black markings of the PVC with some goof-off. Took about 10 minutes. Best method I found was to saturate a paper towel, hold it on the markings for a few seconds and then rub it off.
