Description

A flowing hummingbird sculpture captured at the exact moment its beak reaches into a flower for nectar.

The hummingbird’s wings, body and sweeping tail are formed from layered organic curves and carefully placed negative space. Each flowing line suggests feathers and movement without making the sculpture feel heavy or overly realistic. The raised wings create an elegant silhouette, while the flower completes the pose and gives the bird a clear sense of purpose.

There is a beautiful tension in the design: the hummingbird appears almost weightless and suspended in flight, yet the continuous tail curves lead naturally into the base and keep the entire sculpture visually balanced.

It makes a striking freestanding decoration for a shelf, desk, mantelpiece or windowsill and works beautifully alongside botanical, nature-inspired and modern interior décor.

The sculpture can be printed in a single colour, but using a contrasting colour for the flower makes the feeding pose immediately readable. Matte filament creates a softer ceramic or carved-stone appearance, while silk and metallic filaments emphasize the sweeping curves and layered wing details.

Use the supplied print profile for the tested orientation and support settings. Because the design relies on long flowing curves and open spaces, avoid scaling it down excessively.

If you experiment with different bird and flower colour combinations, please upload a make. I would genuinely love to see them.

Printed it? I’d genuinely love to see your make — especially your color choices.
