This project is a fully 3D printed, massive 400% scaled-up version of the iconic Oracle Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car. Modeled carefully after the famous building blocks Speed Champions set, this model has been entirely optimized, engineered, and recreated from scratch for large-scale desktop 3D printing. Every single component is custom-printed, resulting in a colossal, highly detailed engineering masterpiece with approximately 250+ individual parts.

Scaled up to a giant 400%, the finished model completely transforms the classic building block experience into a dominant display piece with an incredible shelf presence.

Printing Information šŸ–Øļø

  • A1 Standard Ready: The entire project has been thoughtfully sliced and oriented to fit perfectly on a standard Bambu Lab A1 or X1/P1 series build volume (256x256x256 mm).
  • Smart Splicing: For the main large body piece that exceeds standard build plates at 400% scale, the model has been cleanly sliced in half with high-tolerance alignment pins for seamless reassembly. No massive XL printer required!
  • Material: The main model is optimized for PLA filament. For the authentic flexible halo piece, printing in TPU 95A is highly recommended!
  • Settings: 3 walls/perimeters are highly recommended to give the scaled-up connection pins maximum structural rigidity. Use a 10% Gyroid infill for the best balance of strength and material saving.
  • Pre-Configured 3MF: A fully optimized 3MF file is included, cleanly grouping parts onto plates by color to minimize waste and maximize printing efficiency.
  • Organization: Because this build contains over 250 components, sorting your printed parts by assembly sections as they come off the bed is highly recommended to make the process completely seamless.

Assembly šŸ”§

Despite the high part count, the assembly process is extremely satisfying and rewarding. Watching hundreds of individually printed pieces slowly click together into a complete, giant F1 racer creates a genuinely unique building experience. Use original instructions from the smaller set to assemble!

  • Estimated Assembly Time: ~1.5 to 2 hours

Pro-Tip: While the parts fit together with high mechanical tolerances, glue is recommended (I recommend Kraftprotz 3D Printing Glue) on key structural parts to ensure your massive model remains entirely rigid when handled or displayed.

Important Notes āš ļø

  • This is a large-scale, multi-part engineering project. Printer tolerances can vary. Use XY compensation to get tighter or looser fitting pieces if need be.Ā 
  • Proper printer calibration is recommended to ensure seamless brick-to-brick tolerances.
  • Ensure your filament is dry to minimize stringing on fine logo details.
