simple yarn holder
Print Profile(1)

Description
Yarn holder using a 6004ZZ bearing.
This data is designed for PETG. It may not work properly with PLA, so please print in PETG.
The pole is a separate part, so it's less likely to snap, and the shape is kept as simple as possible.
There's also an optional hollow bobbin: fit it onto the pole, then either wind yarn around it or slide a regular yarn ball onto it.
The bobbin spins with the ball, so it stays centred and turns smoothly without catching—even as the ball gets lighter.
All you need to supply is a 6004ZZ bearing.
The bottom has a recess for adding a weight.
It works without a weight, but if you'd like to add one, a self-adhesive weight (like the stick-on weights used for RC cars) or a washer (60 mm OD × 43 mm ID × 10 mm thick) works well.
Optional: I've also included a bearing pusher so the bearing can be removed easily, plus the yarn bobbin mentioned above—print them as needed.
Note: Without a weight or a non-slip pad, it can tip over more easily. If it feels unstable, add a weight to the recess on the bottom. Alternatively, fit the included bobbin over the pole before placing a yarn ball on it—this takes the load off the pole and makes tipping less likely.
Pole … Insert it into the plate.
Base … Turn it upside down to assemble, then press the bearing into the centre. The underside has a recess for a weight, and adding a non-slip pad to the bottom is a nice extra.
Plate … Turn it upside down to assemble.
Bearing pusher … Use this when you want to remove the bearing.
Yarn bobbin … Fit it onto the pole, then wind yarn around it or slide a yarn ball onto it. It spins with the ball for smooth, snag-free feeding.
