Customizable Pipe Cap
Print Profile(1)

Description
Overview:
We make soap occasionally and one type of mold we use is ABS pipe. We needed end caps that were flat, so the mold would not tip over and were snug enough to prevent leaking. Unfortunately, the ones in the store were far too expensive. I made a design that should be able to fit most situations by adjusting the parameters in the Fusion 360 file which I’ve included.
You can define the pipe’s outside diameter (OD) as well as your desired wall thickness and how tall you want the cap. The “clearance” parameter can be used to fine tune the fit. I recommend setting this to 0 if printing in TPU for a snug fit. Another example use for the clearance value is when making soap, we put a piece of parchment paper in between the cap and pipe, so I used the clearance value to account for the thickness of the parchment paper.
Printing:
I recommend printing these in TPU for a tighter fit. No supports required if printed in the orientation shown.
