Description

Overview:

My pastor had broken handles on a pocket door in his house and couldn’t find a replacement.  I designed this simple, two-part insert. It was made as two parts to avoid the need for supports and to ensure the surfaces touching the printer’s textured buildplate would be facing outward for a nicer look.

I’ve included my Fusion 360 file and step files if you need to adjust dimensions for your door.

I fit these tight enough that there isn’t glue necessary between the two parts of the insert although a dab of CA glue wouldn’t hurt.  I would then put some small amounts of epoxy on the door to secure the handle assembly.  Alternatively, put skinny strips of double-sided adhesive around the frame of the insert for a less permanent solution.

Printing:

Can be printed in nearly any filament, but I printed these in PLA.  No supports are required if printed in the orientation shown.
