Description
This is a parameterized rugged case / box made with OpenSCAD. It is a remix based on this model by maxelman, which is based on a model by OK1HRA.
Materials needed: 6x M3x30 mm screws
Changes
- Changed the default wall thickness to 3.4 mm.
- Added an adjustable inner corner radius.
- Added an inner bottom chamfer.
- Added optional inner bottom corner cutouts, so inserts may still fit even if the case corners have lifted slightly during printing.
- Improved handling of shallow top parts.
- Improved hinge support geometry for easier printing.
- Lowered the bottom clip screw hole.
- Increased pass-through screw hole clearance.
- Improved gasket fit when changing the wall thickness or corner radius.
- Added clearance to the top sealing lip for a better fit in the bottom groove.
- Improved the gasket corner shape so it follows rounded corners more cleanly.
Motivation
The motivation behind the changes in this remix was to make the case properly handle my specific use case: this PCBite Case project. The STLs for my PCBite-sized case are included as examples.
Assembly Instructions
You will need the 6x M3 screws. [See pictures] Start with the 2x front screws on the bottom part. In general, you will probably need a screwdriver, but I don't recommend tightening them too much. Then place the top part on top and add the 2x screws for the hinge. In the front, you can now attach the two clips with the remaining 2x screws.
