Description

Modular Random Lot Card Storage System

This modular card storage system is designed for collectors who want fast card retrieval without the hassle of traditional sorting. It uses the random lot storage technique: instead of organizing cards by set, color, type, or alphabetically, you simply place cards into numbered lots and use a digital inventory tool to record which lot each card is stored in. This makes storing and retrieving cards quick, flexible, and easy to maintain.

The system is designed to fit inside an IKEA Kallax cube. Each cabinet interlocks with dovetail connections, helping the full unit stay aligned and secure as you expand your storage. Each cabinet contains 10 individual lots, and each lot holds approximately 85 raw trading cards. Cards in perfect fit sleeves will also fit.

The cabinet and drawer parts are split for printing on smaller 3D printers and will need to be glued together after printing. Larger printers may be able to print more parts in fewer pieces.

Printing Notes:
For faster printing, a larger nozzle may be used on some parts, but I do not recommend using a larger nozzle for the cabinets. The dovetail connections require good dimensional accuracy, and printing the cabinets with a larger nozzle may prevent the dovetails from fitting securely and holding the cabinets together properly.

This storage system is ideal for Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and other standard-size trading card collections, especially for users who manage their collection digitally and want a scalable, space-efficient storage solution.
