Downlight Glare Shield
Boost Me (for free)
If this model helps you and makes your room more comfortable, a boost would be greatly appreciated. It helps more people find the model and avoid being blinded by their spotlights.
Stop being blinded by your ceiling downlights when lying in bed, relaxing on the sofa or watching TV.
This 3D printed Downlight Glare Shield is a simple anti-glare cover for recessed LED downlights and ceiling spotlights. It blocks the direct view of the bulb from one direction, while still allowing the light to spread into the room.
I designed it for the downlights in my bedroom, where the ceiling has an angle of around 30 degrees. When lying in bed, the light was shining directly into my eyes. This small shield solved the problem without changing the lamp, the wiring or the ceiling.
The model is designed for downlights mounted in a sloped ceiling, but it can also be used on flat ceilings and other angles.
