Description

This is a side spool holder mount that uses the original spool holder that comes with the P1P. It doesn't use any screws or nuts, it just clips into place. Do not print with too many walls or infill as it won't be flexible enough to snap onto the printer. 2 walls and 10% infill is plenty.

Print in PLA as TPU and PETG will be too flexible, rattle, and potentially fall off.

This will have to go on the right hand side as the light and camera are in the way. This poses a problem if you want to have a cable chain or keep the PTFE tube in the normal place. I am currently working on designing a way to get the filament to the toolhead that lets the PTFE tube take the same path along the toolhead cable. As a temporary solution, I have pushed the PTFE through one of the holes in the side (as shown in one of the photos).

Hello, this is exactly what i'm looking for. I am just slightly concerned that the weight of the filament could be twisting the thin peice of metal it is on. Any other peice wouldn't be a concern, but this is the peice the z-rods are attached too. Have you used it long enough to confirm wether it has cause any issues? thanks.

Yeah, I noticed that too when I installed it. I have been using it for the past 4 months now without any issue, so I think it should be OK, just as long as you don't take it off and put it back on too much (I think installing it and uninstalling it causes more stress on the metal than just having a spool on there). Hope this helps! 😀

Could you expand what you mean by it works but for long please? And may I ask how you have it installed? That might help me understand what issues you are having. Many thanks, -Luke

I'm sorry to hear this happened. May I ask what material you printed this in and how you installed it? I managed to print mine out of PLA and it has held up alright for several months now. I'd love to help you find out why this has happened and find a way to make it work for you.
