Surprint
Print Profile(8)

Description
Surprint
Surprint is a container printed as a single assembly and designed to conceal a surprise object inside.
Each Surprint is part of a numbered series. The number is never random — it always relates to the object hidden within, whether through symbolism, a visual reference, a joke, a cultural connection, or something else entirely.
The idea is simple: print the model, open the container, and discover what is inside.
Each Surprint is available in two versions containing the same hidden object but featuring different opening mechanisms. One opens by sliding the inner part out of the outer shell, while the other uses a threaded closure. The threaded version takes a little longer to open, stretching the anticipation just a bit further. Both versions are provided as separate print profiles.
Of course, there are ways to reveal the contents before the print is finished. Modern slicers are curious creatures, and so are some users. Whether to preserve the surprise or spoil it for yourself is entirely your choice.
New entries are planned for the series, each with its own hidden object and numerical reference. A standalone version of the container is also planned, allowing users to create their own Surprints by placing custom objects inside and sharing the surprise with others.
⚠️Printing Notes
Printing an assembled container with a hidden object inside required a number of optimizations, primarily related to print speed and motion settings. It is strongly recommended to use the provided print profile without modification and avoid increasing print speeds.
The design has been tested using several PLA variants, including Basic PLA, Matte PLA, and PLA Lite, as well as multiple filament colors. Particular attention was given to colors often considered more brittle by the community, such as yellow PLA.
When printed with the supplied settings, a properly calibrated printer and filament in good condition should produce reliable results.
🙏🏻A Small Request
Please avoid posting photographs of opened containers or revealing the hidden object in comments and makes. The surprise is part of the experience, and preserving it helps future users enjoy their own discovery.
