Ceiling Can Light Filter

Description
My home’s basement makes for a wonderful living room/entertainment area, but since the ceiling is so low, the lights that are in the recessed cans are way too bright on the eyes when sitting down. I didn’t want to completely cover the lights, so I built a filter that lets just enough light peak out between the legs while filtering the direct downlight from the bulb. The added benefit of the raised legs is that bulbs that don’t quite fit completely recessed have about 15mm of extra space.
The filter is designed to fit a metallic can ring that is 210mm in diameter, with about a 16-7mm ring width. Just add a few 6x2mm magnets in the provided insets and you can attach these easily around the house!
In my case, I printed in PETG Translucent filament; the filter itself is thin enough that any light color should work too. Depending on the heat from your bulbs, you could possibly get away with only using PLA, too.
