Print and Assembly Details

The model has been textured to create a realistic material effect and then manually sanded in specific areas such as the belly, paws, back, and snout, creating a pleasant contrast between soft surfaces and areas with a rougher texture.

The model is divided into 2 parts:

• Body
• Tail / lamp holder

Print Dimensions

Body

• Height: 20 cm
• Length: 28.4 cm

Tail

• Height: 20 cm

Final Dimensions Once Assembled

Once assembled, the cat measures approximately:

• Height: 40 cm
• Length: 32 cm
• Width: 12.5 cm

Files Included

Inside the files you will find:

• the model divided into 2 parts for easier and safer printing;
• a complete STL version of the cat in one piece.

⚠️ Important note:
The complete STL version has a slightly different tail, as it has not been modified like the main two-part version.

Printing Tips

Body

To achieve the best possible result and a clean finish, I recommend:

• Print Speed: 70%
• Print Time: approximately 12/13 hours
• Infill: 4% Gyroid
• Walls: 2

Reducing the print speed helps preserve texture quality and avoid imperfections on more visible surfaces.

Tail / Lamp Holder

The tail is the most delicate part of the project and requires particular attention.

Recommended settings:

• Print Speed: 50%
• Print Time: approximately 6/7 hours
• Infill: 4% Gyroid
• Walls: 2

Supports

Use Tree Supports.

I strongly advise against saving material on the tail supports, as this part is quite fragile during printing. Stronger supports help prevent printing errors, vibrations, or failures.

Color Recommendations

Black

With black filament, the result is fantastic:

• no transparency issues;
• elegant and premium look;
• the texture stands out excellently.

It is definitely the color I recommend most if you want a result identical to what is shown in the photos.

White

With white filament, the internal structure might be slightly visible using only 2 walls.

Depending on personal preference:

• you might appreciate this delicate semi-transparent artistic effect;
• or, if you prefer a more solid and uniform appearance, I recommend using 3 or 4 outer walls.

Pink

With pink filament, I haven't encountered transparency issues even with:

• 2 outer walls.

The final result remains uniform and pleasant.

Assembly

Once printing is complete:

1. carefully remove the supports;
2. join the two parts;
3. glue them using:
   • cyanoacrylate glue (super glue);
   • or a specific glue for PLA.

I recommend holding the parts in place for a few minutes while the glue dries, to achieve a strong and clean bond.

To create a lamp as similar as possible to the one shown in my photos, I have also included links to the exact components I personally used.

3D Print Settings

To assemble the tail, I recommend using:

• glue for PLA or glue for PETG, depending on the chosen material;
• hot glue to secure the cord.

⚠️ Important:
If you plan to place the lamp in a location exposed to direct sunlight, I strongly advise printing it exclusively in PETG, especially the black version, as PLA may deform due to high temperatures.
