I wanted to create a swinging cat toy for my very spoilt cats, so I present to you…. The Sleepy Catdulum! This model is fully printable and has been split into multiple sections for optimized printing. There are minimal supports required and uses very little filament :)

My cats are obsessed with watching it swing back and forth and can't stop playing with it :D

P.S. Its also great for measuring your cat's height XD

Instructions: pre-printing

Catdulum Top:

  • Pause at layer height for color change
  • 24g required

Catdulum Base:

  • Supports required for the front section
  • 61g required

Catdulum Ball:

  • Print in TPU if possible!!!
  • 11g required

Instructions: post-printing

  1. Slide the smaller Catdulum Balls into the Catdulum Base while it is still halved
  2. Glue the balls together
  3. Attach the Catdulum Top with a few dabs of glue
  4. Stick it onto your wall using double-sided tape - or alternatively drill/screw it into the wall before attaching the Catdulum Top
  5. Swing it to excite your kitties :P

*If the Catdulum Balls are printed in TPU, you should be able to squeeze them in and out of the slot underneath the Catdulum Base. This allows easy ball replacement if required.*

I have also included a version without the bottom ball - this means that if printed in TPU, you can simply tie it around any of your cat's favorite toy and watch it swing around.

Future Improvements

  • Better pins for a more secure attachment - to rid the need for glue
  • Different ball types
  • Wall attachments
