This project is a structural door stop, robust and designed to last over time. The model is completely modular: the fixing lattice, the hook, and the leaf spring are divided into separate pieces.

The advantage of printing separate pieces is enormous: you can optimize the orientation of each individual component on the build plate to achieve maximum mechanical resistance and perfect surfaces, eliminating complex supports and allowing you to easily make two-color pieces (e.g., black body and red spring!).

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Print all components separately from the profile.
  2. Check the dry fit to ensure the tolerances are correct.
  3. Apply a few drops of super glue (Cyanoacrylate / Super Glue) into the recess of the fixing lattice BUT ONLY ON THE LATTICE!.
  4. insert the spring with the short side facing upwards/outwards of the lattice
  5. DO NOT PUT GLUE BETWEEN THE SPRING AND THE HOOK! IT MUST SLIDE FREELY!
  6. Press-fit the hook by passing a piece of filament through the holes
  7. glue or heat-weld the piece of filament ONLY ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE LATTICE!

Printing Tips:

  • Recommended Material: Excellent in PLA for testing measurements, but for the final version, I strongly recommend PETG (or PA-GF). PETG ensures eternal elastic memory for the spring and superior resistance for the wall lattice.
