Description

This is an autonomous research rc catamaran. it doesn't need to be used for researched, it can be used for fishing or for fun.

If you have any questions email me on: norvin.rajput67@gmail.com

I have not made the entire thing yet, but will release the entire boat before the end of november 2026. You can print the hull to test which filaments, fibreglass/carbon fibre fabrication method works best for you. Please tell me how it goes.

All of my projects are easy to make for the Aussies as above 90% of the hardware can be bought from bunnings, stratco or mitre 10, making my projects easy to make.

I am currently doing one fibreglass layer on top of my hull to test water tightness. If you want to start to prepare for this project here are the materials I have designed it for:

Hardware:
- 10x8x300mm rod (can be any material, or it can be solid or a pipe, just needs to be 10mm in diameter, the length is up to you on how high you want to put your GPS) (bunnings)

- (2) 10x20x500mm aluminum rectangular tube (from bunnings)

- (2) rc boat shaft, 9.5mm outer diameter, 100mm SLEEVE LENGTH. the prop should be around 32mm. really depends on your motor and ESC

- (18) 10mm M6 screws and nuts (you can take these out once you have fabricated a layer of fibreglass or carbon fibre over the hull or you can leave them in

- (8) 10mm 8M screws and nuts (for the 2 beams that connect both hulls)

- 1m^2 of woven fibreglass or carbon fibre cloth (bunnings)

- 1kg of resin or epoxy that works for you (make sure it is safe to use on 3d prints) (bunnings)

- waterproof silicon and caulk gun (bunnings)

Electronics (if you do not want to make it autonomous, dont add the flight controller, gps, etc…..)

- (2) motor with 16-19mm mounting pattern. i have designed for 2212 size motor, probably 2200 or 1400kv brushless.

- (2) ESC with BEC, i am using 40A

- (2) 3s or 2s battery, 2200mAh or similiar (for backup incase your solar panel is fault or you dont want to add solar pannel)

- extension lead for servos

- receiver and transmitter

- flight controller

- GPS

- Telemetry unit

- PDB (if using solar panel)
Misc:

- tape

- hot glue

- velcro

- sistema box (or any watertight box that you dont mind cutting or glueing)
