Description

A compact, support-free printable enclosure designed specifically for the ESP32-S3 N16R8 CP2102 development board (often fitted with the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1 module and marked WROOM1 on the RF shield).

Unlike many ESP32-S3 cases available on MakerWorld, this model is designed for the slightly larger CP2102-based board variant. Several existing enclosures fit the CH340 or smaller S3 boards but do not match the dimensions and button placement of this version.

Features

  • Designed for ESP32-S3 N16R8 CP2102 KIT A
  • Fits boards using the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1 module
  • Snap-fit design – no screws required
  • Prints without supports
  • Full access to both USB-C ports
    • USB port
    • UART/programming port
  • Visible access to the onboard status/RGB LED
  • Open sides provide access to all GPIO pins and headers
  • Easy access to BOOT and RESET buttons
  • Secure board retention while remaining easy to remove

Compatibility

This enclosure is intended for ESP32-S3 boards that have:

  • Two USB-C connectors at one end of the board
  • BOOT and RESET buttons located directly above and close to the USB connectors (see attached pictures)
  • CP2102 USB-to-UART interface
  • ESP32-S3-WROOM-1 module
  • N16R8 memory configuration

The button placement is an important identifying feature. This model is specifically for boards where both RESET and BOOT buttons are positioned next to the USB ports, as shown in the photos. Other ESP32-S3 variants may use different layouts and will not fit correctly.

Printing

  • No supports required
  • Print in the orientation provided
  • Recommended layer height: 0.20 mm
  • Recommended wall count: 2 or more for durable snap tabs
  • PLA, PETG, or ABS all work well

Notes

Many ESP32-S3 enclosure designs on MakerWorld target smaller development boards. This case was created for the larger CP2102-based N16R8 version, ensuring proper fitment, button access, and clearance around the dual USB-C connectors.

If your board matches the layout shown in the photos—with BOOT and RESET buttons located near the USB ports—this enclosure should fit perfectly.
