Description

Simple permethrin wash tracker to attach to clothes. Before each wash pry out a circle to indicate how many washes are left before reapplication is needed. For the final wash, remove the tag to indicate the clothing is no longer treated.

I made a printed loop and keyring style tag versions. For the printed loop, it's designed to have an interference fit, you may need to work the peg into the hole. Small pliers or similar may help.

The intent here is to have a small tag that attaches to your clothes that are treated with Permethrin, a strong insecticide used to incapacitate ticks before they can bite the skin and pass on disease. Many manufacturers of the product for clothing treatment recommended 5 washes before reapplication as the effectiveness reduces considerably with washing.

Use permethrin as one link in the chain of defense against ticks.
