I've downloaded and printed a few different phone stands, but none of them seemed quite right. A lot of them seem designed for smaller (older) phones, or maybe phones that aren't in cases, with hooks that wrap around the front but won't fit the phones that I have. Some of them just didn't seem stable. In the end, I designed this.
Features:
1) Rough textured surface where the phone sits to prevent it sliding off as easily
2) Hole in the bottom of the shelf so you can plug in a charger while it's sitting in portrait view
3) High back for stability with larger devices
4) Angled appropriately and only a small lip on the front of the shelf to accomodate a wide range of device thicknesses
5) Larger shelf to help accomodate thicker devices, and raised a bit so that charging cords can fit underneath it
6) Cutout on back at top - Probably useless, but I figured on smaller devices it might increase your chances of being able to access things at the back of your phone like buttons, camera, fingerprint reader, etc. Most phones will sit above the top of the back anyhow.
7) Circular cutouts on bottom to add optional TPU feet to prevent it from sliding around
8) Looks sweet! (subjective)
UPDATE Mar 27, 2021 I added a "higher shelf" version to add more clearance for the charging cable. If you want to run the cable through the back instead of just directly through the bottom of the shelf, this one works better for that.
Supports: Yes
Rafts: Doesn't Matter
Resolution: 0.3 (stand) 0.2 (feet)
Filament: 3D Solutech Premium Real Black PLA
Notes: I printed this phone stand at a 0.3 layer height with supports and 15% infill in 3D Solutech Premium Real Black PLA. The feet were printed (slowly) at a 0.2 layer height with 100% infill in 3D Solutech Natural Clear TPU
Print in supplied orientation (sideways) and use a brim or raft only if necessary. (I didn't need one)
