Description

After printing a couple other models that didn't seal properly, I decided to pick a well-designed model and make a few changes to seal it as much as possible. There are now three versions of the tray:

The first version can be printed face-up, and does not include the logo.
The second version is multi-color, and meant to be printed face-down, to maximize quality and minimize filament swaps.
NEW! - The third version addresses the most common feedback - make it stronger, and make it work with the original AMS Lids

For the first two, I've reinforced the desiccant opening, provided an improved snap-fit lid with a tab to indicate the proper orientation, updated the funnel adapter to fit into the container better, added the funnel, and added brims to the two funnel parts. The funnel can also be use with this AMS Desiccant Pod.

For the third design, I've made the desiccant tray shorter, and inset the lid, to make it flush, and so it can be concealed behind the original AMS lid. I've also made the desiccant openings deeper, so that the top is much sturdier.

Note: See the attached photos for the best way to insert the lid. If you insert the left or right side first, then press the other side, you risk breaking the model. Please insert the edge closest to the logo first, then push the tab back towards the other tab. It may be a bit snug, but if you insert it at a slight angle the first time, you can then easily slide it into place.

Hey, when you printed on the smooth PEI plate with ABS, did you have to use bed adhesives?

Solved one of my main problems with similar containers - being unable to open them without spilling silica everywhere. Fits nicely and works great all around, prints fast too. Thanks for a fantastic design!

Works nice but the small hole to fill it is a pain. But it does fit perfectly and works.

In case you missed it, there's a funnel & adapter, on the 4th build plate of the first print profile, that makes it much easier to empty and fill!

Yes I have printed the funnel, but just feel it's a wate to print a funnel when having a larger opening would not require it. Just my 2 cents. Would I have researched a bit more, I would have printed another model. 5 star review anyway, just not my refered design.

Ich habe die Druckplatte "With Logo and Ribs" gedruckt und sie passen perfekt in den AMS vom X1C 💪🏻 Zu Beginn dachte ich, ich würde ohne den Trichter auskommen... Dann lagen die Kügelchen überall. Also noch schnell den Trichter gedruckten und das befüllen ging wie von selbst. Vielen Dank für das Design und das Druckprofil 💪🏻

looks good. one click print from android app. i have the old one in my other ams with two separate lid pices and this looks easier to fill and seal up.

Just realized this does not fit in the AMS with the cover on. If you want to put the cover back on after you insert these you may be disappointed. I don't know if they have changed the clearance on the AMS but it doesn't fit in my other one either which I got back in July. The one that arrived yesterday doesn't look any different.

Thank you, Printed well and accurate, nice print. The funnel broke loose from my plate while printing (yay for skip print object). Maybe a brim on that thin edge would help. Had to give a 3 as would not let me post with a 4 or 5 with failed print, the rest worked so not going to waste filament on the whole print again just for a rating. Printed in @matter3d Metallic silver
