Unearthed from a basalt midden along the Hollowshade frontier, the relic was found face-out, hammered to the charred lintel of a hall that no longer remembered its own name. Two horns sweep upward from a faceted dome — ridged at the base by rivet-bound collars whose iron-toothed grates once vented the breath of something that had stopped breathing willingly. 

The visor is a vortex-carved slit, narrowed to a downward spine that splits the face into mirrored halves. Cheek plates fall like cleaved tusks. Across every facet, ash-black and oxidized crimson run in banded striations — sigils painted in clotted iron, or scars burned in by oath. Each ridge reads as carved intent. Each band remembers a blow.

 The Hornblight wardens swore by it. A sworn caste, said to hammer their vows directly into the metal of their masks and seal the masks shut around the words. To wear it was to silence one's name. To hang it on a wall is to keep that silence near. Built in stacked color, layer by layer — each stratum a deliberate sediment, each band a buried line of script. The print is not a copy of the relic. The print is the relic, unearthed again.
