Sidon Ithano was one of the most recognizable pirate captains in the post-Galactic Civil War era of the Star Wars galaxy. A male Delphidian raised on the harsh world of Kalee, he became infamous across the Outer Rim under titles such as the “Crimson Corsair,” “Blood Buccaneer,” and “Silent Scourge of the Lost Clusters.”
His most distinctive feature was the red Kaleesh-style mask and pirate armor he wore, inspired by the culture of Kalee and visually reminiscent of the armor worn by General Grievous’s species. Ithano commanded a feared pirate crew aboard the Meson Martinet and built a reputation as one of the deadliest raiders operating after the fall of the Empire.
One of his most famous adventures involved the wreck of the Obrexta III, a long-lost vessel from the era of the Clone Wars. Ithano and his crew believed the ship contained valuable kyber crystals once tied to Count Dooku. Instead, they discovered Kix, a clone trooper who had survived for 50 years in stasis after
uncovering information related to Order 66.
Kix later joined Ithano’s pirate crew, giving the Corsair access to old Confederacy base locations and Republic-era knowledge. This discovery became one of the stranger surviving connections between the Clone Wars and the era after the Empire’s collapse.
Sidon Ithano also appeared briefly in Star Wars: The Force Awakens at Maz Kanata’s castle, where his striking red mask made him an instant fan-favorite despite limited screen time.
