Lhasa Apso Bust

This Lhasa Apso bust beautifully captures the dignified presence and luxurious coat of this ancient Tibetan companion breed. Sculpted in a calm three-quarter profile, the head is gently angled, giving the piece a composed and contemplative expression. The deep-set eyes and compact muzzle reflect the breed’s alert yet affectionate nature.

The defining hallmark of the Lhasa Apso—the long, flowing coat—is intricately rendered throughout the head and neck. Carefully layered sculpting recreates the dense curtain of hair that frames the face, falls around the muzzle, and cascades down the chest. The texture is articulated with fine striations and subtle depth variations, giving the impression of natural movement and weight within the coat. The ears blend seamlessly beneath the flowing hair, maintaining the breed’s distinctive outline.

Finished in a weathered bronze-effect patina, the surface treatment enhances the sculptural detail. Darker tones settle into the recessed lines of the coat, while warm highlights accentuate raised strands and facial contours. This contrast not only emphasises the elaborate texture but also lends the piece a timeless, heirloom quality.
