Celebrate the World Cup 2026 with this unique 3D-printed bottle opener shaped like the iconic trophy!
Originally designed as a decorative clip that attaches to a beer or soda bottle, the project evolved during testing into a fully functional bottle opener.
V3 – Stronger and Redesigned
This new V2 version has been completely redesigned to solve the strength issues reported on the first model.
Improvements in V3
- Thicker walls for much better durability
- Reworked print orientation: the model is now printed horizontally so the layer lines are no longer aligned with the stress direction when opening bottles
- Specifically optimized for repeated bottle opening
- Cleaner and stronger opening mechanism overall
Because of this new orientation, supports are required during printing. They remove fairly easily with standard settings, and photos are included to show the final result after support removal. If you have optimized support settings, feel free to adapt them for an even cleaner finish.
A GIF is also included to demonstrate the bottle opening action.
Material
I personally printed the model using PLA+ and did not experience any issues with strength or durability during testing.
So in my experience, there is no need to use another material unless you simply prefer to.
Included Files
You will find 4 different files:
- Decorative Version
A simple clip-on trophy that attaches to the bottle for decoration only. - V2 Bottle Opener Versions
Two reinforced versions specifically designed for opening bottles reliably and without breaking.
These versions take significantly longer to print due to their orientation and reinforced structure. - AMS Multi-Color Version
A version prepared for AMS/multi-material printing.
Keep in mind that print time is extremely long because of the required orientation.
Printing Recommendation
For the best balance between print time and appearance, I recommend printing the model in a single color and painting the small green bands manually afterward. The result looks great and saves a considerable amount of printing time.
