Anycubic Kobra X - Anti-Wobble Spool Adapter

Improved guidance for common spools – without modifying the original holder.

The original tubes of the 4-filament holder on the Anycubic Kobra X are a bit too slender for many common spools. This adapter increases the spool seat to 42 mm, thereby ensuring a significantly smoother and cleaner operation.

The best part:
The original tube remains intact. It is simply inserted into the adapter via press-fit. The existing bayonet lock remains fully functional, so the holder can still be attached, turned, and locked as usual.

The front outer edge with 50 mm also prevents the spool from moving too far outwards. I successfully tested the adapter with Anycubic, Bambu Lab, and Sunlu spools. A simple, clean solution for anyone who wants to continue using the original Kobra X spool holder — just with less wobble 😁

New in V2 [ from 05/15/2026]

The V2 has been constructively revised and directly tested following feedback from the community.

Compared to V1, V2 features:

  • a higher rear disk
  • clean curves instead of sharp transitions
  • an adapted front side with reduced thickness
  • no more chamfer at the front
  • an inner diameter of 24.15 mm for the original tube
  • Print profile: Kobra X - Anti-Wobble - Spool Adapter V2

The practical advantage:
Especially with cardboard spools, the spool often does not run on a continuous surface inside, but rather on two lateral "rings", while the cardboard core sits deeper. This can easily cause the spool to jam in the gap between the tube and the support arm. Since I don't use cardboard spools, I didn't even notice that 😁

The higher disk of V2 prevents precisely this behavior much more effectively.

Additionally, V2 can now be printed support-free when rotated 180°. This also makes the recess for the tube cap cleaner.

Features

  • uses the original tube of the Kobra X
  • no modification to the holder needed
  • bayonet lock remains intact
  • easy press-fit assembly
  • 42 mm spool seat
  • 50 mm front edge as a stop
  • tested with Anycubic, Bambu Lab and Sunlu
  • flush finish front and back
  • V2 with higher guide disk for improved function with cardboard spools
  • printable support-free in 180° orientation

Small assembly note:
If the tolerance in your print is too loose (due to filament settings) - the original tube does not rotate when locking - simply place it at the locking point and gently rotate it with both thumbs from the front with slight pressure. Then the inner tube will lock cleanly into place and remain in that position 😉

Boost Me (for free)

If you like the model, I would be very happy about a like, a comment, or even a boost from you. Most of all, I would be happy about a make or a photo of it in use directly on your Kobra X — because that's exactly what the adapter is for.
