Description

Stop your bin blowing over — a quick-release wall mount that works itself.

Designed after one too many bins ending up in the neighbour's garden. This wall or fence mounted restraint holds your wheelie bin by the handle and releases with a single pull-down action. Push the bin back in and the mechanism lowers automatically — no fiddling, no separate latch to operate.

Fits most UK household wheelie bins with handle diameters up to 35 mm, including round and flat handle styles.

How It Works

To secure: push the bin into the mount — the arm lowers automatically and locks the handle in place

To release: pull the handle down

No need to pull the handle forward before pushing the bin back in

Features

• Wall or fence mounted
• Fits handles up to 35 mm diameter
• Automatic locking when bin is returned
• Single pull-down release
• Optional magnet pockets (4× 6 mm × 3 mm magnets)
• Includes a drilling template for easy wall positioning
• Tolerance variants included to suit different printers

Assembly & Installation

The model prints in parts and assembles simply. Mount the main body to the wall first, then complete the rest of the assembly in place. A drilling template attaches to the back of the main body — remove the body once the template is positioned, mark your holes, fit your fixings, then remount.

Important: for best results, the bottom of the bin handle should sit flush with the inside bottom of the main body when the bin is pushed in.

Hardware Required

• M5 screws
• Wall plugs (if mounting to masonry)
• Optional: 4× 6 mm × 3 mm magnets

Tolerance Options

Threaded parts are included in 10 offset variants from 0.1 mm (tightest) to 1.0 mm (loosest). 0.6 mm worked best on an X1C — start there and adjust if needed. Different printers, filaments, and slicer settings may need a different value.

Print Notes

• Print the tolerance variant that suits your printer before assembling
• Magnet pockets are optional — the mount works without them
• Handle diameter limit: 35 mm
• Designed for UK household wheelie bins — check your handle style before printing
