Description
Professional Network Cable Migration & Combing Kit
Tired of losing track of port mappings during a switch upgrade or rack migration? This kit is a professional-grade solution for IT experts and SysAdmins to organize and comb cables without the stress of mislabeling.
The Workflow:
- Unplug & Snap: Unplug a cable from the switch and immediately snap the corresponding numbered keystone onto the cable end.
- Multi-Switch Strategy: For high-density environments, print sets in different colors. Assign one specific color per switch to manage complex migrations across the entire rack simultaneously without confusion.
- Comb & Organize: Once all cables are tagged, you can freely comb, bundle, and route them. The keystones stay locked to the cable, ensuring you never lose the destination port.
- Re-plug: Match the 3D-printed number to the new switch port for 100% accuracy.
- Storage: The kit includes Blank Inserts to designate empty or decommissioned ports and fits into a custom travel case to keep pieces secure in your tool bag.
Print Profile Details:
I have organized this into two distinct plates to suit your setup:
- Plate 01 (Full Mono Kit): Contains the Case, Tray, and all numbered pieces in a single color. Perfect for a quick, one-material print.
- Plate 02 (Two-Tone Numbered Caps): Contains only the numbered keystones. This plate is pre-configured for AMS or manual filament swaps.
- Note: Numbers are printed face-down for maximum legibility and a smooth professional finish.
Technical Recommendations:
- Material: PETG is highly recommended. Server room exhaust can get hot; PETG ensures the clips maintain their "snap" and don't soften over time.
- Supports: Not required.
- Layer Height: 0.2mm works perfectly as the text is printed on the bottom side for clarity.
