Description

CustomLink Male Connector

Custom-designed 3D model and PCB that replicates the male-side connector used in the Simagic Maglink system (wheel-side mount).

This project allows you to reuse a single original Maglink kit and fabricate additional male connectors for multiple steering wheels, significantly reducing cost and improving compatibility with custom simracing steering wheels.

Key features:

  • Dimensionally matched to the original Maglink male interface
  • PCB designed to replicate electrical connections
  • Optimized for easy integration into custom 3D-printed wheel housings
  • Cost-effective alternative to buying multiple official kits

3D Model Versions

This project includes 4 variations of the 3D model, designed to adapt to different assembly preferences and printing conditions:

  1. Insert Versions
Designed to use heat-set threaded inserts for improved durability and repeated assembly.
  2. Direct Thread Version
Designed for screws to thread directly into the printed plastic (simpler, no inserts required).

Each of the above versions includes:

  • Standard model (clean geometry)
  • Supported model with added breakaway legs, intended to improve print stability and quality. These supports should be removed after printing.

Bill of Materials (BOM)

To assemble one connector, you will need:

  • 1x PCB (custom design provided)
  • 1x 3D printed body
  • 2x Round magnets (6 mm diameter, 3 mm height)
  • 2x M2 screws (~8 mm length)
  • 4x Pogo pins (20.5 mm length, 1.5 mm diameter)
  • Optional: 2x M2 threaded inserts (4 mm lenght)

PCB Ordering

To order the PCB you can use any pcb manufacturing company. The pcb design is included in this drive link  as it cant be uploaded to makerworld.

Important notes:

  • This is a replica for personal / DIY use, not an official Simagic component
  • Ensure correct PCB assembly and wiring to avoid damage to your equipment

If you're building multiple wheels and want to stay within the Maglink ecosystem without the cost overhead, this solution provides a clean and scalable approach.
