Benchy
Print Profile(1)

Description
This isn't your average, pristine tugboat fresh off the assembly line. This Benchy has seen things. It’s battled 50-foot swells, outrun a kraken made of tangled filament, and braved the most brutal lightning storms the digital seas could throw at it.
After months lost at sea, it has finally washed up on your build plate. It’s a bit battered, a little scarred, but it’s still standing (and floating).
Why Print the Survivor?
This model is designed for those who find beauty in the breakdown. It’s a perfect test for:
- Texture & Detail: The "battle-worn" scars on the hull test your printer's ability to handle complex, non-smooth surfaces.
- Character Printing: Unlike a standard Benchy, a little bit of stringing or a rough layer actually adds to the aesthetic of a storm-beaten ship.
- Weathering Practice: This is the ultimate canvas for makers who want to practice "rust" effects, barnacle details, or sea-salt weathering with acrylic paints.
Recommended Logbook Settings
| Setting | Value | The "Salt" Factor |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Matte PLA or Wood Fill | Gives it that aged, organic look right off the bed. |
| Layer Height | 0.16mm - 0.24mm | A slightly thicker layer height can enhance the rugged feel. |
| Infill | 15% Gyroid | Keeps the structure solid after its long journey. |
| Supports | None | It survived a hurricane; it doesn't need a crutch. |
| Top Layers | 4 - 5 | Ensures the "weathered" roof stays watertight. |
Captain’s Orders
- The "Rust" Look: If you really want it to look like it's been through a storm, try printing in a dark grey or brown, then dry-brushing some orange or copper "rust" onto the cracks.
- Scaling: This looks incredible when scaled up to 200%. It becomes a true centerpiece for any shelf.
"A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor... or a legendary Benchy."
Show me your wreckage! Upload a photo of your Storm-Tossed Benchy once it docks. I’d love to see how your printer handled the "damage."
