Description

I liked the concept of the original, but wanted one that didn't require supports to print or bolts to hold it together. This version prints in three pieces + some locking pins, and then stacks onto the spool. It takes three samples in the space of one spool, and has quite a bit of room for those samples thanks to the flat rim added on. With a 45 degree angle, they can be printed flat on your print bed, and should be printable in two jobs if you line up the parts right.

Designed to fit onto this spool: https://www.printables.com/model/272767-bambu-lab-reusable-spool-holder-remix-four

Print two of the Inner.stl (ring with large rim), oriented with flat rim on the print bed

Print one of the Inner-NoRim.stl (ring with no rim), oriented flat

Print four of the LockPin.stl, oriented flat on the bed

To assemble, drop the two rings with the rims onto your spool, lining up the pin on the spool to one of the notches, and with the large rim facing up. Drop in the four LockPin.stl parts to fill the rest of the notches. Then drop the last ring with no rim onto the top and finish assembling your spool over the top.

They have holes at the center to take the start of your filament, and holes along the rims to take the ends of two of them (the third gets tied off to the main spool).
